El Salvador is the only country in the region with an assembly plant to meet the demand of other countries in Central America:

• Guatemala
• Nicaragua
• Costa Rica
• Panamá

We have a sales office in each country to serve specifics clients. We also serve other YKK sister companies like Honduras and Jen Colombia, supplying them certain products.

Our manufacturing process is as follows, from the moment customer service receives order to shipping the order to the customer:

• Responding to climate change: We will reduce CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions over the long term to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
• Reduce environmental impact: We will consistently reduce our environmental impact by reducing the total amount of waste generated, increasing recycling rates, promoting a shift from plastic packaging materials to sustainable materials, reducing water consumption, promoting proper management of chemical use, preserving ecosystems and enriching life.
• Offer and supply environmentally friendly products: Ensure the implementation of environmentally friendly activities in the development of products and equipment.
• Ensure compliance: In accordance with the sustainability vision, we will strengthen our environmental management system using the “YKK Global Compliance Standards (YGCC)” and make continuous improvements to ensure compliance with environmental laws, maintain zero environmental accidents and violations, and strengthen environmental education of human resources.

At YKK El Salvador, the safety and health of our employees is our top priority. We will promote the creation of a safe and healthy work environment that complies with government regulations and YKK corporate standards, where all employees, suppliers and visitors are fully aware of the risks to which we are exposed and take responsibility for our own health and safety.

This policy is based on the following principles:

• Provide a safe work environment: We will identify and evaluate potential risks and strengthen risk elimination and reduction measures, maintain order and cleanliness in the workplace, improve machine and equipment protection (guards, locking systems, etc.), improve our emergency response system.
• Improve safety awareness: We will improve the awareness of each employee in the prevention of risks to which they are exposed through the support and participation of top management, continuous training, inspections, 5S program.
• Maintain and improve the level of safety management: We will establish a safety and occupational health management system based on risk prevention, continuous improvement, compliance with YKK standards, applicable national laws, YGCC (YKK Global Compliance Criteria).
• Promote corporate efforts for disaster prevention: We will strengthen the fire prevention and disaster prevention system to minimize the risk of occurrence.
