Metal Zippers
YKK El Salvador has an assembly plant for making zippers to supply all Central American countries. We import from other YKK companies the raw material for these items: wire for chain and sliders, tape, and top and bottom stops for zippers.
YKK manufactures three different kinds of zippers, which are assembled in El Salvador: metal zippers, plastic zippers, and VISLON® zippers. YKK® zippers can be made of plastic coil (plastic zipper), POM resin (VISLON®), or with metal teeth (brass, antique brass, or aluminum). Our natural cotton or polyester tape can be dyed in different colors.
Our products have certifications such as OEKO-TEX®, ISO 9001:2008, and ISO 14001:2004 to ensure the quality of our products and services.
Metal Zippers
We have zippers with functionality to meet your every need: closed-end, zippers with double sliders, small size, large size, reversible, etc.
It is possible to purchase the chain and slider separately. Be sure to purchase the appropriate number of sliders for the given amount of chain in meters or yards. Metallic zippers are suitable for applications with thick fabric, such as leather items, jackets, jeans, bags, uniforms, and pants. The latest trend is to use metallic zippers in women´s clothing like dresses, skirts, or blouses.
YKK’s metal zippers can be made with the following types of metal teeth or chain:

- Brass
- Nickel
Each type of metal zipper is further classified based on size and chain type and by the type of function, such as closed-end, open-end and /or double sliding:
